Tech Stack Compliance

To provide a user experience that meets or exceeds expectations set with the Subscriber, it is necessary to establish a Technology Stack; a definition of minimum requirements and standard procedures.

Hardware has an end to its warranty, and software has an end of life. The end of life is the date after which support and product updates will no longer be offered from the manufacturer.

Software out of support can potentially introduce a multitude of issues into an environment. Security can be compromised due to the lack of security updates. Applications may no longer work with older operating systems and internet browsers. Without support from the manufacturer, it is very challenging to provide a great experience for the Subscriber. As a result, Collabrance established minimum standards that state what the requirements are to be eligible for support.

Collabrance will notify Service Providers of devices nearing end of support six months in advance and another reminder 90 days from end of life date established by the manufacturer. It is required to upgrade impacted devices or segment devices from network and eliminate access to internet for security measures. Devices that must remain in the environment will not be monitored by Collabrance and support, these devices will be escalated to the Service Provider. If Collabrance’s assistance is needed, billable time will follow normal billing procedures.

Failure to comply with requirements listed above as well as other established technology requirements listed in Server Requirements Document will result in a non-compliance fee. Collabrance will begin assessing the fee in the first full month after support ends.

  • Per Non-Compliant Server = $75 per month
  • Per Non-Compliant Workstation = $25 per month

Recognizing there are times when a server that is beyond its end of life will need to remain in the environment for a short period of time that has been agreed upon by all parties, Collabrance has prepared the following standard exception handling criteria for these servers.

  • RMM tools must be installed on the server
  • All alerting will be turned off, with the exception of antivirus
  • There is no charge for the device
  • There is no support for the device, all issues will be passed to the Service Provider

In the event of data breach, data loss or business interruption as a result of non-compliant devices, the Service Provider and customer shall hold Collabrance harmless against any claim.
