Technical Details

There are 2 main pieces of client hardware to deliver a VDI – Thin clients and Zero clients. The primary manufacturers are Dell/Wyse, Lenovo and HP.

Differences

Is there are a master image on the server?

  • Thin - Image can be created similar to a work station for mass deployment
  • Zero – No image, they support whichever protocol they have embedded in them

What OS is on the client?

  • Thin – Linux, Embedded Windows
  • Zero – No OS
